New software optimizes powder coating
The ProfiTech M is the all-round control system for WAGNER powder coating systems. Now new software makes it even more capable. The result: less waste, lower powder consumption and more uniform coatings.
Since its arrival in mid-2013 the ProfiTech M control system has combined three major advantages: simplicity, versatility and excellent coating results. The clear menu navigation and the “Touch & Twist” operation concept make it simple and intuitive to operate. The configuration options give it versatility. Excellent coating results are achieved through automation, which makes manual overrides unnecessary. Now new software adds three interesting functions to the ProfiTech M’s wide range of capabilities.
Height control offers powder savings and increased economy. This allows the ProfiTech M’s sensors to automatically set the travel reversing point of the spray guns so that they must no longer be matched to the workpiece’s dimensions by hand. The ProfiTech M also automatically regulates powder quantity and the sine curve, which is essential with larger or smaller lifts. This minimizes powder use and achieves a more even thickness distribution in the coating.
Another function of the new software is especially relevant for customers who powder coat MDF boards: the field controller has been integrated into the system in a way that allows the powder wrap-around on the reverse side of the workpiece to be controlled via the touch-screen. It only coats the area that needs to be coated:
The third function helps prevent damage to the system. When the booth is closed during a color change, the conveyor stops automatically. This prevents a collision between the workpiece and the booth.
The new software is available now and can be installed on existing systems. Depending on the required functionality, a hardware refit may be necessary.
