In our process of making our aluminum baseball bats, the parts must be cleaned and lubricated several times. We wanted to stop using solvents for cleaning the parts and was also looking for a better way of applying lubricant in a more uniform coating. PSS was able to solve both of our problems with two (2) customized turntable systems. The first unit, which had three (3) tanks, not only cleaned the parts but also applied a “dry” lubricant prior to extrusion. The automatic cycle actually consisted of five (5) stages: rinse, wash, rinse, apply lubricant, and dry. The second unit cleaned the parts after swaging and cutting. Both units have special racks that can be hoisted off the turntable.
